UPDATE!!! The following proposal for an off-leash dog park resulted in the establishment of a dog park located at Clark Field. This state-of-the-art dog park was openned on June 24, 2004 with the help of The Friends of Clark Field and many valuable volunteers. Lincoln Park is the center of Tremont, originally known as Pelton Park (1851), bounded by Kenilworth, Starkweather, W. 14th and W. 11th St. Our group has chosen Lincoln Park as an ideal site due to its wonderful central location and beauty. PRELIMINARY*
Plan for Lincoln Park Dog Run The PRELIMINARY plan for the "dog run" located in Lincoln Park shows the park at the corner of Starkweather and West 11th Street. The architectural drawing below shows plans for historic metal fencing along Starkweather with black chain link fences in the inside of the park to match the existing pool. The sidewalk with a double-gated entrance will be located off Starkweather Drive. Within the area will be park benches throughout the inside perimeter as well as a drinking fountain. The approximate size is 8,800 square feet.
Criteria Used to Site Lincoln Park as Ideal Location The following criteria was used by our citizens committee from suggestions by the American Kennel Club, thedogpark.com, dogpark.com and several successful case studies.
